Strays

Terms of service for customers

Version 2026-11-03. Last updated 3 November 2026.

These terms are between Cloud Adept Limited ("we"), a company registered in England and Wales (company number 09216333) with its registered office at Hazlemere, 70 Chorley New Road, Bolton, Lancashire, BL1 4BY, United Kingdom, and the organisation that signs up for Strays ("you"). Email: support@getstrays.com.

The person who creates your organisation in Strays accepts these terms and our data processing terms on your organisation's behalf, and confirms they're allowed to. We record which version was accepted, by whom and when.

1. For businesses only

Strays is for businesses and other organisations, not for personal use. You confirm you're using it for your trade, business or profession, so consumer protection law (including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013) doesn't apply to this agreement.

2. The service

Strays reads settings and metadata in AWS accounts you connect, through a read-only role you create, and reports waste and security risks, with the other features described on our website. Strays never changes your AWS accounts. Its findings, cost estimates and evidence are recommendations and aids, not professional, security, audit or financial advice: you decide what to change, and you're responsible for changes you make.

3. Your account

Keep sign-in details secret and MFA switched on. You're responsible for what happens under your organisation's account, for the people you invite, and for having the right to connect the AWS accounts, Slack workspace, Microsoft or Google tenant, and Jira or Linear site you connect. You're the controller of the personal data Strays processes for you (for example your staff's names and emails), and responsible for telling your people about it; our data processing terms set out what we do as your processor.

4. Acceptable use

Don't use Strays to scan accounts you don't control, try to get around its security or limits, reach other customers' data, or resell it without our written agreement.

5. Trial, plans, payment and cancelling

6. Your data

Your data stays yours. We use it only to provide Strays, as described in our privacy notice and data processing terms, which form part of these terms. Admins can download your data at any time, and delete the organisation and its data from Settings; or ask us and we delete it within 30 days. We may use counts that don't identify you or anyone else (for example how many accounts are connected in total) to run and improve Strays.

7. Our service and confidentiality

We own Strays and everything in it other than your data; you may use it under these terms while they last. Each of us will keep the other's confidential information confidential, and use it only for this agreement, unless it's already public or the law requires otherwise.

8. Availability and changes

We'll provide Strays with reasonable care and skill, and aim to keep it available and working well, but don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or find every risk or saving. We may improve or change features; if we remove something important to a paid plan, we'll tell you first and you can cancel with a pro-rata refund.

9. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or anything else that can't be limited by law. Otherwise: neither of us is liable for indirect or consequential loss, or loss of profit, revenue or business; and our total liability under or in connection with these terms in any 12 months is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in those 12 months and £100. We think these limits are reasonable: Strays only reads your AWS accounts and can't change them, and its prices reflect them.

10. Ending

You can stop using Strays and delete your organisation at any time (cancel any subscription first). Either of us may end these terms if the other seriously breaks them and doesn't put it right within 30 days of being told. We may suspend an account that puts the service or other customers at risk, and will tell you why. When these terms end, your data is deleted as described in section 6 and our data processing terms.
